Selected Works from All Fine Art and Graphic Design Studio Courses
Bristol Community College’s annual student juried art exhibition features works by students enrolled in the Art and Design Programs. Begun in 2005, the show’s juried format provides students the opportunity to engage in the professional practice of preparing works for entry into an exhibition. Students are encouraged to submit for consideration up to four works made between April 2009 and April 2010. Each year around 200 works are submitted and the jurors have the exciting challenge to bring that number down to about 75 pieces. The resulting exhibition reflects the strength, breadth, and diversity of the program.
Works in the exhibition are from the following categories: Two and Three Dimensional Design, Drawing I and II, Sculpture I and II, Painting I and II, Drawing III, Photography I and II, Printmaking, Graphic Design I and II, Print Design, Computer Graphics, Typography, and Interactive Design. Students could also submit can also submit for consideration a personal work; one that was not created under classroom instruction.
This year’s jurors are Candice Smith Corby, Gallery Director at Stonehill College and Yoon Soo Lee, Associate Professor of Art and Design at UMASS Dartmouth.
