Artists are a lot like alchemists. They take raw materials and transform them. Whether graphite, or steel, or ordinary things like string and wax, or cigarette butts and maps, a transmutation of materials is the essence for any work of art.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Robert first found the power of photography as a child through the pages of Life, Look, and National Geographic. He received his first 35mm Camera while in high school. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art. Influences include, Robert Frank, Lewis Hine, Bill Brandt, Edward Weston, and Aaron Siskind.
