Following his first work week, Flanagan and his inauguration committee will hold a waterfront family day festival of food, fun and fitness. The series of family fun events will stretch from the Heritage State Park Visitors Center, where lists of activities and locations will be available, to Columbia Street and CD Rec (former Bank Street Armory). City trolleys will ferry participants to the various activities.
Events and locations include:
Heritage State Park Visitors Center — Petting zoo, arts and crafts, magic show, face painting, cookie decorating and refreshments.
Fall River Carousel — Free carousel rides, Fall River Children’s Museum activities, popcorn and cotton candy, clowns and balloons, cookies and hot chocolate.
Fall River Marine Museum — Y.E.A.H. (Youth Experiencing Artistic Hope, ages 15-22) information booth, children's tattoos, Virginia’s art sketching, pizza and soft drinks.
Narrows Center for the Arts — Motion dance performance.
CD Rec — Kick off of fun and fitness programs.
Water Street Café — Little Theatre performers.
Gates of Fall River — Outdoor activities with horse and buggy rides, a live ice sculptor and hot chocolate.
73 Columbia St. — Open studios, photography and art, Durfee Jazz Band, arts and crafts, complimentary clam chowder.
Trolley transportation and remote downtown parking will be located behind the Eagle Performing Arts Center, 35 N. Main St.
