The Friends of Saint Anne’s Hospital are bringing one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals to Fall River.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat” musically tells the Biblical story of Joseph, one of 12 brothers and a handsome young man who is his father Jacob’s favorite child. This, combined with his ability to interpret dreams and his ownership of an amazing coat, causes his 11 brothers to become jealous and resentful. They sell Joseph into slavery and he is sent to jail, where he becomes popular due to his ability to interpret dreams. His gifts catch the eye of the Pharaoh, who appoints him to one of the most powerful positions in Egypt. Years later, Joseph's now-starving brothers arrive in Egypt, and, after a series of events, he grants them all they need, reveals his identity, and reunites the family.
