“Once Upon an Afternoon Dreary: A Celebration of the 201st Birthday of Edgar Allan Poe”

at Fall River Public Library on Sunday, 01/24/2010 – 2:30 PM

The event will feature dramatic readings of several of Poe’s most celebrated works, including his 1845 masterpiece “The Raven.”  Library staff members Daniel Lelievre, Joyce Pinsonnault and David Mello will bring to life several of his most memorable poems, such as “The Bells,” “Annabel Lee” and “The Haunted Palace.” Concluding the afternoon will be a one-man presentation of one of Poe’s most popular tales of terror, “The Tell-Tale Heart.”

The Photography of Robert J. Moss

at Narrows Center for the Arts on from 01/16/2010 to 02/28/2010 – 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Robert first found the power of photography as a child through the pages of Life, Look, and National Geographic. He received his first 35mm Camera while in high school. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art. Influences include, Robert Frank, Lewis Hine, Bill Brandt, Edward Weston, and Aaron Siskind.

Robert's black and white and sepia toned photographs are of musicians, many photographed here at the Narrows.
